1.
A quiet home is all I ever asked for Just some silence for the night The pace set slow, nowhere to go, I’ll finally find that time But thoughts collide, and race tonight, A thorn stuck in my side And judgment comes, I just can’t see, how you could hate incessantly I’ll shut it out ill hide my face And no words said it sealed my fate A comment there, undying stares, your judgment ran so clear I planned a way, that fateful day, to rid me of this fear Carefully, slowly, closer day by day It grew so loud, no other way out, there was no choice to be made Now slowly I'll open that door Protected by the dark of night Under my cloak, I’ll hide my lantern The time has come to rid this man of sight At the end of the day, I'll hide um away, hide um away They'll praise my name, and know not of my mistakes Oh none of them were made, I'll hide it away The truth sets in when morning comes, there's clarity with sight Come see my deeds, my heart beating, a murder in the night
2.
Lock the door, turn off the lights, a creak downstairs, reset, all night The crawlspace checked, but I won't forget, the solitude ahead Monsters fill the silent night, fantasies all dressed in white It was cold as ice, with you in paradise I won't see you tonight I'll fold a blanket, to take your empty space I won't be at peace until I see your face New patterns in, these wrinkled sheets Lights on to guard my peace And I will wait, for another day when you'll be listening, with me

High and Dry 02:40
Sweet talking stranger, turned sour. You only called my name, during later hours Drink this well, till I'm dry, but you won't see me tonight, oh no You only fed me words, you spat them right at me You never showed me love, just bitter empathy tainted fruit spoils the pie, flying through the sky Tell me, was this all, a lie Fool me once, fool me twice, and the charm still lingers Years pass, check the gas, we're running on fumes here Compensate, dehydrate, save it for another day You only fed me words, you spat them right at me You never showed me love, left me cold and empty I tried oh I tried, just to leave me high and dry Tell me, was this all, a lie Weatherman called for rain, it’s getting cold out here Think I left the oven on, I should check that, dear Can’t we forget, all those words that we said, that I said
4.
Say my name, seal my fate, they'll be nothing to see Sit me down, keep it close, start talking to me Could it be the moment to keep it still My future, my past, my editorial Say my name, seal my fate, come on and dance Don't contemplate, hypnotized, by romance Don't give it thought, feel its' shape, come closer to me Say my name, seal your fate, write my history We'll take it slow, momentum, and we'll go Say your name, like a spell, to no effect Keep the light on, circumspect Your boots still sit by the front door Cornerstone don't come around no more Catch a glimpse of your light in a movie Discount takes of what you were to me Your constellation flairs across the sky I'll say your name, you brought them all to life To bed I'll go, I still take it slow.

about

There is a Hum in my house. It has been one week, maybe two. It seems to be between the walls, in the living room, then the kitchen. At night, I mostly drown it out with a fan. It's been two weeks. I hope I find it.

These are four short stories concerning The Hum written and recorded between October 2018-February 2020 in Steubenville, OH. This album was mostly recorded on a Tascam 424 MkIII.
